Responding to advertisers looking for effective ways to reach customers in digital media, the Nevada Appeal will launch a vibrant new program called "Steal the Deal," on Monday allowing Appeal advertisers to reach a broad new spectrum of customers through targeted deals on specific products and services.

The deal message will be available at nevadaappeal.com/stealthedeal and promoted in the Appeal's print and online editions.

The deals also will be sent via email to the Appeal's extensive database of readers.

Steal the Deal is the latest in the growing group-buy trend. Similar to the popular Groupon service, Steal The Deal's uniqueness resides in being dedicated solely to discounts and offers in the Carson City area but aimed at readers and consumers from Dayton, Genoa, Minden, Gardnerville, and South Lake Tahoe.

Here's how it works:

• Steal the Deal presents deals and coupons offered by local merchants. One day, it may be a 50 percent discount on a gift card. The next day, it may be a deep discount on dinner out or a spa treatment.

• When enough consumers sign up for the offer, the deal is on and everyone gets to cash in on the savings.

• Once it's a deal, you'll receive a certificate that you can redeem through the merchant.
