DQ Blizzard fundraiser to benefit kids' hospitals

The Dairy Queen restaurants in Carson City and Minden are participating in the company's "Miracle Treat Day" on Thursday, in which $1 or more from every Blizzard treat sold that day will be donated in support of the Children's Miracle Network Hospital at Renown (CMNH).

"The Dairy Queen restaurants in Northern Nevada have helped raise money through collecting change, selling paper miracle balloons and holding special events like Miracle Treat Day. Their efforts make a genuine difference to the lives of the kids at Renown Children's Hospital," said Kiemmy Boc, Renown Children's Miracle Network Hospitals coordinator.

Since 1984 DQ has raised $86 million to help save and improve the lives of children. Last year on Miracle Treat Day, DQ locations across the United States and Canada raised nearly $5 million for 170 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. All money raised at local DQ restaurants will help fund state-of-the-art equipment and provide support for pediatric services and education programs at Renown Children's Hospital.
