We saw a man sent to the State Prison for embezzlement recently. Lazard is opened business as a watchmaker. He received many watches and jewelry and then decamped Winnemucca, being arrested a few days later. Lazard is a graduate of Oxford and speaks fluent Russian, as well as many other languages. He is a profound scholar, scientist, and astronomer. It seems a shame he became a clumsy embezzler in a convicts jacket at 46.

State officers have held a meeting and are on their way to arrange replenishment of the State's general fund to the tune of $200,000 from the Nixon Bank at low interest. There had been hopes of transferring funds from the school fund to the general fund.

Ormsby county automobile drivers to the amount of 1,333 made application during the first month the new law became effective. In the entire state, 30,101 drivers applied for licenses.

Fifty citation have been issued to tardy motorists who haven't put on new license plate stickers. Twenty-four each were issued in Washoe and Clark counties.
