Reno Rodeo Foundation 'Back to school foster family denim distribution'

This event each year makes such a huge difference in a child's life. The program targets children that are in circumstances that are beyond their control and have been placed in foster homes because of abuse or neglect. Having something new to start school is always nice, and for kids who aren't living in their own homes, having access to clothing, shoes, socks, underwear, etc., is amazing. I would love to see every registered foster family make it to Reno this weekend to receive free clothing for every child within their homes. The outstanding Cowboys and Cowgirls from the Reno Rodeo Foundation, headed by Marie Baxter, continue to work endlessly to provide much-needed new clothing so children can go back to school in style. There is nothing like this event once you attend and help. It can be life-changing, not just for the children, but you. I participate for selfish reasons: The event helps put life in perspective and show you what others are going through.

Kerri Oxoby Memorial Scholarship Golf Tourney

When Kerri Oxoby's younger sister Lyndi sent this over and I read "10th annual golf tournament," I was shocked. Wow, 10 years! Kerri was an inspiration of courage, determination and grace.
