Road Report Aug. 14

The following information applies to the period of Aug. 15-21:

Due to continued work on the construction of the next phase of the Carson City Freeway the following activity is expected to occur beginning Wednesday:

• Edmonds Drive will be reduced to a single lane with flaggers at the Clearview Drive intersection between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

• The left turn lane from southbound Edmonds Drive to eastbound Clearview Drive will be closed. However, left turns will still be permitted from the through lane.

• Line Drive will be closed to through traffic at Clearview Drive.

• Clearview Drive will remain closed between Edmonds Drive and Line Drive, but is expected to reopen in September.

Work will continue on a Nevada Department of Transportation project to mill and overlay a section of Highway 395 from the junction with Highway 50 (Spooner) in Carson City to south of Waterloo Lane in Gardnerville. There will be nightly lane closures and turn restrictions, occurring from 8 p.m. through 6 a.m., during weeknights.

One lane will be closed in each direction on the Carson City Freeway between the Highway 50 and Fairview Drive interchanges due to maintenance.

Saliman Road remains closed at Robinson Street due to construction of a water transmission line. Detours are marked. The road is expected to remained closed until Aug. 21.

A project to complete a new north-south water transmission line on the east side of Carson City will result in one-lane traffic with flagger controls from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays for the following roads:

• Damon Road between Tucker Court and South Edmonds Drive

• South Lompa Lane south of Edmonds Drive

• Conte Drive from Valley View Drive to Snyder Avenue

• Conte Drive from Damon Road to Sinbad Street

The following activity is expected due to pedestrian improvements:

• Possible delays on Hells Bells near Parkhill Drive and on Lepire

Drive near Cassidy Court.

• Possible delays on Woodside Drive between Airport Road and

Stanton Drive.

The following activity is expected due to utility improvements:

• On Thursday, there will be flagger-controlled traffic on Medical Parkway just east of Presti Lane.

• There will be work off-street at the intersection of Colorado Street and Fieldcrest Drive.

• There will be work off-street near 3663 Hobart Road.

On Saturday, Third Street will be closed between Carson Street and Curry Street from 6 a.m. to midnight due to a special event.
