Carson River Park near Lloyd's Bridge could see improvements if the Board of Supervisors OKs an updated site development plan Thursday.
The proposed plan, which features native, naturalized landscaping and additional park amenities including sidewalks, parking and a picnic shelter on the park's west side, was approved in 2008.
Parks and Recreation Department staff believe now is a good time to move forward with the project work, due to the favorable bidding climate.
If approved, work will be paid for using Question 1 grant funds of $146,000, a Carson Water Subconservancy District grant of $7,500 and $78,000 in previously allocated residential construction tax.
Supervisors on Thursday also are scheduled to possibly:
• Adopt a resolution proposing issuance of general obligation bonds for financing water and sewer projects.
• Award a $345,000 contract to V&C Construction for Carson City Waterfall Fire Watershedimprovements.
• Approve an abandonment of public right-of-way from Tri State Surveying of about 6,783 square feet adjacent to properties located at 1712 Karin Dr. to the west, 1946 Hamilton Ave. to the north and an unaddressed parcel to the east.
• Introduce on a first reading, an ordinance amending code for water, sewerage and drainage by adding additional definitions and clarifying and modifying previous definitions to be consistent with the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
