Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:

• Tyler Eugene Lawson, 21, unemployed from Carson City, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Thursday at Stewart and William streets on suspicion of gross misdemeanor possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance. Bail was set at $4,971. Also arrested was Timothy Whitmer, 19, of Carson City, on suspicion of felony parole violation and minor consuming. No bail was set.

• A 23-year-old cook from Carson City was arrested at 2:56 a.m. Thursday in the 4100 block of Pheasant Drive on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing. Bail was set at $407.

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Report at 4:49 a.m. of a man breaking the glass on a slot machine at a Carson Street casino.

• Report at 10:15 a.m. of someone trying to sell copper wire to a recycler on Sunrise Drive.

• Fire in the backyard of a vacant home at 12:40 p.m. in the 3700 block of Woodside Drive.

• Coroner call at 3:53 p.m. in the 1700 block of Snyder Avenue.

• A bicycle was reported stolen at 7:10 p.m. from the 2700 block of Gardner Lane.

• Coroner call at 8:10 p.m. off Kings Canyon Road.

• Accident at 9:02 p.m. at Industrial Park Drive and Kansas Street.

• Fight report at 9:57 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Carson Street.

Lyon County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Report of a van and building spray-painted at 5:59 a.m. on Clover Lane in Fernley.

• Report of a fence damaged by a vehicle at 6:03 a.m. on Osborne Lane in Mason Valley.

• Copper wire was reported missing at 9:17 a.m. on Moab Lane in Mark Twain.

• Report of an attempted residential burglary at 12:34 p.m. on Rose Peak Road.

Storey County

The following are some of the calls to which deputies responded Wednesday:

• Report at 12:57 p.m. of a person stuck in an elevator at the Virginia City Courthouse.

• Report at 4:33 p.m. of people causing a traffic hazard on State Route 341 near Cartwright Road when they stopped to try to feed two bands of wild horses.
