A Carson City teen was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident on South Carson Street.
According to Trooper Todd Hartline, an 18-year-old woman in a Suzuki Vitara pulled out from Rhodes Drive into Carson Street traffic to turn left onto the highway. A southbound Lexus sedan, driven by Franklin Tsui, 66, of Cupertino, Calif., struck the Suzuki broadside and caused it to roll twice, said Hartline. It ended up on its wheels in the northbound lanes.
Northbound traffic on Carson Street was shut down from Sonoma Street to Fairview Drive for about an hour.
The woman, who was alert and conscious, was cut from the wreckage with non-life-threatening injuries and taken from the scene by a medical helicopter that landed in the southbound lanes. Her name was not available from authorities Thursday afternoon.
She is expected to be cited for failing to yield right of way.
