Man charged in attack on fellow inmate

A Carson City man who was in jail on a probation violation allegedly attacked another inmate being escorted by a deputy.

Adrian Hernandez, 20, was charged Thursday with suspicion of felony battery on a prisoner by a prisoner.

According to the arrest report, a deputy was walking the victim into a cell block containing Hernandez, when Hernandez allegedly ran up and hit the other inmate in the face. Hernandez allegedly continued to beat the inmate, who had been knocked to the ground. The victim did not fight back, the report states.

Hernandez was detained at Taser-point and additionally booked on the charge.
