The second annual "Cookies with Santa" at Adele's Restaurant and Lounge on Saturday will benefit The Ron Wood Family Resource Center, which provides an array of support services to families in need.
Sponsored by Adele's and Once Upon a Party, the event was "such a joyful success last year, created by and through the collaboration of businesses and donations of services that we decided to do it again," said Charlie Abowd, Adele's chef and owner. "This is an opportunity to enjoy a wonderful family day with your children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews in a Christmas environment with Santa at Adele's, and all the while be making a less fortunate child's Christmas a happier one.
"Thanks to my staff, to Once Upon a Party, to Tom Streckel who is a wonderful Santa, to Trent and Laurie Dowell for the photography and The Dowell Boyz for the music."
Partygoers can stop by between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. for a visit and photograph with Santa Claus, cookies, cocoa and cider, as well as acoustic Christmas music performed in the lounge by The Dowell Boyz. It is free to children and $5 for adults, along with one unwrapped gift, which will be distributed through the center to a child in need.
Adele's is at 1112 N. Carson St. For more information, go to adelesrestaurantandlounge.com or call (775) 882-3353.
