Virginia City

If you didn't get tickets to the sold-out "Wild West New Year's Eve Party" at Piper's Opera House, no worries. There are a few places up in those hills I'd recommend. You can drop by the Bucket of Blood saloon and check out the Comstock cowboys. There is the Silver Tongue Devils at The Old Corner Bar; Lady and The Tramps at the Red Dog Saloon; and there's the Old Washoe, The Delta and the Ponderosa. On the way up you can stop in at the Gold Hill. So in reality all of Virginia City will be welcoming the new year with a bang.

New Year's hot spots in Carson

With people converging in Tahoe and Reno, check out some local venues like the Casino Fandango, Gold Dust West and the Carson Nugget - all have special events planned. But don't count out our local bars and restaurants: Stroll downtown to Mo & Sluggo's, hop on over to Doppelgangers, drop in at Firkin & Fox, and head over to Red's Old 395 Grill. For a family night out, the Carson Lanes bowling alley is always on the list. There are specials and fun all over town, so play it safe. The weather is wonderful, so walk or call a cab. Remember to be safe, and Happy New Year to all!
