Democratic women's meeting Saturday

The Carson City Democratic Women's Club will meet at 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12 at Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St. New officers will be installed and future programs and activities discussed. The upcoming fashion show also will be discussed.

Car seat safety check Friday

A Child Safety Seat Check will take place 8 a.m.-noon Friday at the Ron Wood Family Resource Center, 2621 Northgate Lane Suite 62.

There will be information and education on how to properly install a car seat. New car seats also will be available at a reduced rate.

RPEA meeting looks

at available services

The Retired Public Employees Association of California will meet at Grandma Hattie's Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St., at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9 for its regular bi-monthly membership meeting followed by a board meeting.

Meetings are open to all California retired public employees from state, county, city and improvement districts. The only cost is for any regular menu item ordered. No reservations are needed. For information, call president Richard Schendel at 775-424-2283.

The February speaker will be JoJo Armijo from Nevada Aging and Disability Services Division who will discuss the services and programs available through that agency.
