In Douglas County:

Construction will continue on the North Douglas County/Carson City Waterline Intertie Project causing traffic control delays on Johnson Lane.

On Dec. 2, Douglas county commissioners awarded a contract to West Coast Contractors of Nevada to construct the project consisting of a welded steel water storage tank and approximately 12,000 linear feet of 18-inch water line along Johnson Lane beginning at Heybourne Road and continuing approximately 12,000 feet east to the existing tank site across from Squires Street.

Starting Feb. 7, the contractor is scheduled to install water pipe along Johnson Lane from Heybourne Road to Vicky Lane. Additional work will continue on Johnson Lane through the spring.

Updates for construction delays will be given regularly. Motorists can expect traffic control, a reduction to one travel lane, side street closures with detours, and minor delays while this work is in progress.

Questions regarding the project can be directed to Douglas County's Project Manager Donette Barreto at 775-782-6211 or the project manager for West Coast Contractors, J.J. Perino at 775-747-7774.
