Obituary: Beryl Simonson

Beryl Simonson died Feb. 12, 2011, in the Carson-Tahoe Hospital after a lengthy illness. Beryl was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Truman, Minn. She is survived by her husband, Lee, with whom she was married for 62 years; daughters Patty Simola, Margie Penner, Marie Simonson; and son Steven. In addition, there are 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She also served as grandmother to five adopted Chinese girls.

Beryl lived in Carson City for 41 years. Prior to that, she lived in Arizona, Alaska, Kansas, and Minnesota. She enjoyed traveling with their trailer home to Yuma, Ariz., in the winter season and to Minnesota in the summer.

There will be a Celebration of Life at Hilltop Community Church at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011. The graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Lone Mountain Cemetery in Carson City.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Autumn Funerals & Cremations.
