Tickets are on sale for Sierra Lutheran High School's 9th annual dinner and auction "Empowering Minds Enriching Hearts" March 5 at Genoa Lakes Golf Club. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Proceeds benefit the students' families through tuition assistance.
An elegant dinner will be prepared by The Supper Club in Antoci's. There will also be a live auction and silent auction.
The Dollar$ for Scholar$ drawings will give away a 50-inch plasma TV, IPad, and an HP Pavilion laptop.
The tickets for the event as well as tickets for the drawing can be purchased at the school, located at at North Sunridge, or from any of the students at Sierra Lutheran High School.

Music pioneer Leon Patillo will present a free concert at 6 p.m. March 6 at First Christian Church, 2211 Mouton Dr., Carson City. An offering will be taken.
The singer/songwriter is perhaps best known for being the lead vocalist for Santana, one of the most seminal acts of the rock 'n' roll landscape.
Patillo now uses his voice, motivating gifts and music for festivals, churches, special functions, corporations, radio and TV hosting. He's had lots of success and visibility with gold and platinum albums, crossing all age groups and ethnic boundaries.
Recently he's focused on concerts and inspiring others through his music. He shares a message called "You Can Begin Again," which helps many to have a new starting point for their lives and gives them hope and encouragement.
This year, Patillo will partner with the City Impact Center, which is a community outreach in the heart of Las Vegas that empowers and equips youths to better themselves and their families.

Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church will present a free concert by the southern gospel group Tribute Quartet 7-8:30 p.m. March 8.
An offering will be collected to help the group with travel expenses.
