Carson City detectives are investigating the death of a woman found at a south Carson Street motel earlier this week.
Sheriff's Capt. Ken Sandage said officers were called out to the Motel 6 just after 10 a.m. Monday on a report of a non-responsive woman. When police arrived, the 31-year-old woman was pronounced dead.
According to Sandage, Nicole Centanni was found by her boyfriend when he awoke next to her. Centanni had been staying at the motel for a about a week. The 19-year-old boyfriend had arrived the previous evening and rented a separate room, then the two spent the night in his room, said Sandage.
The boyfriend initially called Centanni's husband in Minden, then 911, said Sandage. A dispatcher gave instructions on how to perform CPR, which the boyfriend attempted, but Centanni was beyond help, said Sandage.
There were no signs of trauma, and an autopsy performed Tuesday was unable to determine a cause of death, said Sandage.
The final determination is awaiting the results of a toxicology report.
Sandage said Centanni has a history of drug abuse. According to Washoe County Jail records, she was arrested in Reno on Jan. 1 for driving under the influence.
