LOS ANGELES (AP) - Jonathan Toews scored the winning goal off his own skate at 14:33 of the third period, giving the Chicago Blackhawks a 4-3 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Monday night to end a three-game skid.
The defending Stanley Cup champions swept the Kings in four games for the first time since 1981-82, when they went 3-0-0 against them.
Patrick Sharp continued his success against Los Angeles, scoring two goals and assisting on another. His three points gave him eight this season against the Kings.
Sharp's two goals gave Chicago the lead both times until Ryan Smyth tied it 3-3 for the Kings on a drive that broke his stick at 12:42 of the third.
Toews answered 1:51 later, when he scored in traffic after Jonathan Quick had already made one save, drawing cheers from a contingent of red-clad Hawks fans sitting behind their bench.
Bruins 2, Maple Leafs 1
TORONTO (AP) - Marc Savard scored the tiebreaking goal and Tuukka Rask stopped 36 shots to help Boston complete a five game trip at 3-0-2.
Nathan Horton also scored for the Bruins.
Mikhail Grabovski had the Maple Leafs' goal and James Reimer - making his second straight start for Toronto - had 31 saves.
Rask turned away several good chances by former Bruins star Phil Kessel, who has just one assist in nine games against Boston since being traded to Toronto prior to last season.
Islanders 5, Flames 2
CALGARY, Alberta (AP) - John Tavares had two goals and an assist and Matt Moulson also scored twice and New York stayed hot with a victory over Calgary.
Michael Grabner scored New York's fifth goal into an empty net, while Andrew MacDonald and PA Parenteau each had two assists for the Islanders (12-19-6), who are 7-1-1 in their past nine.
New York starting goalie Rick DiPietro made 13 saves for the win before leaving with an apparent lower-body injury with the Islanders up 4-1 in the second period.
Calgary native Nathan Lawson, who was recalled from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League after the Islanders traded Dwayne Roloson to Tampa Bay on Saturday, replaced DiPietro in goal, allowing just a single goal on 29 shots.
David Moss scored both goals for Calgary (18-19-3), which got 21 saves from second-string netminder Henrik Karlsson.
Panthers 4, Hurricanes 3, OT
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Bryan Allen scored 1:16 into overtime to lift Florida over Carolina.
Allen took a quick slap shot from the boards that surprised Carolina goalie Cam Ward on the glove side.
Cory Stillman, Chris Higgins and Dennis Wideman also scored for Florida, which squandered a two-goal lead in the third period before steadying itself for the win.
Scott Clemmensen made 34 saves for the Panthers, who improved to 5-1-2 in their last eight games. Florida also celebrated a rare win at Carolina - the Panthers are 6-25-2 all-time at the RBC Center.
Zac Dalpe, Zach Boychuk and Jay Harrison had the Hurricanes' goals. Ward made 24 saves but couldn't help Carolina win its fourth straight.
