North Carson RV and boat storage facility sold

Grizzly's II Indoor RV and Boat Storage, 2900 Arrowhead Dr., was sold to MFI Investors, LLC last week for $975,000.

The seller was Sierra West, Inc., and sale brokered by Todd Blonsley of Marcus and Millichap Real Estate Investment Services Co.

The property is comprised of 20 750-square-foot storage units.

Senate minority leader speaking at NBC meeting

JobConnect office to host life skills workshop

The Carson City JobConnect office, 1929 N. Carson St., will host classes on life skills, resumes and interviews from Jan. 24-27.

Each class starts at 8:30 a.m. each day starting with life skills, such as time management and self esteem, the "60-second me" on Jan. 25, then resumes and interviews on the Jan. 27.

Economic indicators from the U.S. Department of Commerce:

• Construction spending in Nov. 2010 was $810 billion, up 0.4 percent from October 2010, but down 6 percent from November 2009.

• Sales of new single-family houses in November 2010 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 290,000, according to estimates released by the U.S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. That is 5.5 percent above the revised October rate of 275,000, but is 21.2 percent below the November 2009 estimate of 368,000.

Carson City company gets Navy contract

Chromalloy Gas Turbine Corp. of Carson City won a contract worth $81,604 with the U.S. Navy to repair, refurbish and service components of turbine engines.

Wedding publication launched

My Wedding Library, a wedding-planning business in Reno owned by Chris and Beth Jones, has launched a free-distribution publication, "My Wedding Library Magazine."

The company also operates a website, myweddinglibrary.com, and a storefront location at 9333 Double R Blvd. in Reno.
