Garden thank you from Fritsch
On behalf of the students and staff of E.W. Fritsch Elementary School, I would like to recognize and thank those who have helped establish our outdoor learning classroom.
We appreciate the NSEA for choosing us to receive a grant and the Carson City School District for guiding and supporting our efforts. Eagle Scout candidate Nathan Menke, Mr. Pete Menke and his family worked many hours on planning and coordinating the building of the raised beds. Their commitment was invaluable. We send kudos to the many volunteers who donated their labor and expertise during construction. The Fritsch P.T.A. continues to be a vital partner dedicating both money and moral support to the garden. Many local businesses have given generously. We would like to publicly acknowledge: Greenhouse Garden Nursery, Meek's Lumber, and Tahoe Fence Company.
We salute your community spirit and support of education.
With gratitude,
Anne S. Lenhares

Thanks for helping Literacy Volunteers find new home
Carson City Literacy Volunteers wishes to extend our deep gratitude to the individuals and organizations who read about the loss of our current location and who called to offer us a place to conduct our literacy tutoring, so that we might continue to teach adults in our community to read and write. The response of those in this community to our plight and their willingness to share their own resources with us touched us deeply. In particular, we would like to thank the Children's Museum of Northern Nevada, St. Peter's Episcopal Church, First Baptist Church of Carson City, and Stewart Indian School for their kind offers of space.
And we extend our most grateful thanks to Garth and Joan Richards (G S Richards Construction Co.). Because of their incredible generosity, we will be moving into a wonderful new home at 430 Jeanell Drive in early February.
We are overwhelmed by the kindness and caring of people in this community. We'll be inviting the public to an open house when we have completed the move to our new location. Thank you again to all who offered their help.
Sincerely,
Jan Whitemore, director

Thanks for help opening office to help pets
Pets of the Homeless would like to thank Computer Corps, Inc., Palmer Engineering, Valley Door Works, Healing Arts Associates, United Software Company and Bullis & Associates for their generous donations of office equipment, office furniture, computer software and hardware, and office space for the new location at 206 S. Division St. in Carson City.
At the new national headquarters we award grants to veterinarians who provide free clinics and we recruit new collection sites across the country that partner with food banks, homeless shelters and soup kitchens that distribute the pet food and supplies that our sites gather.
In the Carson area, people that need pet food can go to FISH, The Dew Drop Inn, and the Ron Woods Family Resource Center. Complete information on the nonprofit is available at www.petsofthehomeless.org.
Thank you,
Genevieve Frederick, executive director
