L&L Hawaiian Barbecue closed its Carson City restaurant last weekend.
The eatery, 1300 S. Stewart St., was part of the cluster of restaurants on the east side of the Carson Mall, known as The Cove. It opened in 2009.
"They decided in this business climate it wasn't going to work for them," said Kevin Ray, the mall's property manager. "They just had to make a business decision for themselves."
The restaurant has three other locations in Reno and Sparks.
Ray said he's already had some interest from other restaurants looking to change locations in Carson City or expand into the capital, including one restaurant from Douglas County.
"I think it's going to be really easy to find a good quality restaurant who can move right in," Ray said.
