The following were nominated by their instructors as this semester's outstanding students at Pioneer High School:
Robert Franklin: Robert Franklin is being nominated as an outstanding student for his continual conscious presence in class, his insightful written expression, and for his willingness to step out of his comfort zone and take risks in the classroom to earn the grades he desires. Robert stood out as an outstanding student this semester when he got in front of the class to present his project. This act of pushing himself beyond his comfort zone made him a student to admire. I am beyond pleased that we have young men like Robert in our community; I look forward to seeing the great things he contributes to our world.

Alex Wallace: With serious determination, Alex has matured as a Pioneer student. His active classroom participation, work ethic and friendly demeanor have not gone unnoticed. Alex is respectful to teachers and fellow students alike. He is a responsible, well-mannered young man who leads by example. His outgoing personality and positive attitude set Alex apart. I believe Alex will excel in anything he chooses to do.

Erick Sepulveda: Erick gives 100 percent on every assignment. He contributes to class discussions and always volunteers to help out during class activities. Erick has a great attitude and is really motivated.

Justin Sandstrom: Justin is not only an outstanding student, but also an outstanding human being. He is a kindhearted young man whose mere presence radiates throughout the room. He contributes a consistent positive attitude toward most circumstances in life and always is a pleasure to have in class. Justin, I know you will succeed.

Esteban Venegas: This kind, soft-spoken scholar has been a shining light at Pioneer High School. His devotion and total commitment to his family and his academic goals serve as a wonderful example to his fellow students. I expect great things from this exceptional young man.
- Elijah Rotter, instructional assistant
Shane Blair: English teacher Ron Rhoads nominated Shane, a wonderful young man who stands out as a student with honor and drive. He has wonderful organizational skills and does his work with pride. He is a student who always has a smile on his face and is able to express himself well. Shane will do wonderful things for our world.

Sydney Darney: Sydney is an excellent science student. She is inquisitive and intelligent. Sydney is always on task in class. She is friendly and helpful to other students. She always participates and is a pleasure to be around.
- Sue Reed, science teacher
Teri Riddle: Teri is excelling in her courses with Carson Online. She comes into the computer lab and works hard to stay on task with her courses. Teri is a great go-to person if another student has any questions about Carson Online. She is truly an individual that takes her education seriously.
- Jill Council, distance education
Alan Fernandez: I have witnessed a great transformation in Alan this last year culminating in the second semester of the 2010-2011 school year. He has taken full responsibility for his life and education. When there are struggles he admits he needs help and tenaciously seeks out answers. He has more heart than most of my students. If he so chooses he can do anything he puts his mind to.

Kayla Covert: Kayla is a bright, responsible student. She is always eager to help her teachers and willing to patiently work with other students. Kayla is an outstanding example of leadership and excellence at Pioneer.

Sarah Lanuza: Sarah is hardworking, conscientious and dependable. Sarah is a quick learner and willing to take on any task that is given to her.
