WADSWORTH (AP) - Fire crews in northern Nevada have fully contained a wildfire that burned more than 11,000 acres east of Reno.
The Sierra Front Interagency Fire Center reports that fire lines had been drawn completely around the Nixon fire by about 7 a.m. Monday. No structures were damaged or injuries reported in the fire that broke out on Saturday in a remote valley east of Nixon and north of Wadsworth and Fernley.
More than 200 firefighters battled the blaze on Sunday with the help of five air tankers and a helicopter. Mop-up operations continued on Monday but fire officials said most all of the crews were expected to be released by evening.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
