Former Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons has joined a Canadian mining firm.
Gibbons will serve on the board of directors and as a senior adviser to International Enexco. The company is based in Vancouver and owns the Contact Copper Project in Elko. It also is a partner in a joint venture in Canada.
His position was announced Monday by Enexco President and CEO Arnold Armstrong.
Gibbons holds bachelor's and master's degrees in geology.
A former Air Force combat pilot, Gibbons is a former Nevada congressman who was elected governor in 2006. He lost the Republican primary last fall to current Gov. Brian Sandoval.
