Good for Frank Bell: Bell retired as superintendent of the Western Union office, and it was immediately proposed to raise a contribution and present Mr. Bell with a testimonial, the money raised from the telegraph operators of Nevada. Mr. Bell on hearing of the scheme notified the originators of the scheme that he did not desire any such contributions. No man holding a lucrative position should receive gifts from employees.
