The Nevada Bullets improved to 6-0 on the season with a 8-3 win over the Butte Sabres on Saturday afternoon at Western Nevada College in a nonleague summer collegiate baseball game.
Nevada goes for a 7-0 start today at 4 p.m. when it hosts the Sacramento Legends at Western Nevada.
It was originally supposed to be a doubleheader, but inclimate weather canceled the second game.
Nevada took a 3-0 lead in the first when Kyle Stone reached on an error and stole second base. He scored on a triple by Brooks Klein. Beau Day followed with a run-scoring single and eventually scored on a single by C.J. Maldanado.
The Bullets made it 5-0 in the second when Ryan Eustice singled and then stole second and third. Tanner Oates followed with a run-scoring single and then stole second. Oates moved to third on Stone's infield out and scored on Zach Hendrix's infield out.
Butte made it close in the fourth with three runs off Scott Greene, who picked up the win. Zac Stanford relieved Greene in the fourth and allowed just two hits the rest of the game.
The Bullets scored one each in the next three innings to put the game away.
Hendrix had a run-scoring single, Chris Stocker delivered a run-scoring infield out and Stone capped the scoring with an RBI single.
Hendrix, Eustice and Day led the Bullets with two hits apiece.
