It is very rarely that a man can be found will not overshoot the mark a little when relating his fishing experiences. Editor McClatchy, of the Sacramento Bee, came to this office a few days ago. He had been fishing in Cascade and Fallen Leaf Lakes. "Well, I can't say that I was very successful. I took up about $20 in lines and tackle, but the fish didn't seem to come my way," said Mac. William Stock of the City Market was struck on the back of the hand by a rattlesnake at the slaughter house. Mr. Stock's hand was considerably swollen this afternoon.

Patrolling the Sierra Pacific Power Co. lines by airplane is the newest and quickest method yet devised. Ed Douglas, line foreman and student pilot has been winging his way over 60,000 volt lines at 500-600 feet looking for downed poles and trouble. Douglas said it is quite easy to spot 13-inch insulators that are broken.

A Pony Express rider is due in today after making a mochilla exchange at Desert Station. The Desert Station exchange of the historic mochilla, a pouch that held mail carried by the Pony Express, will be the first since 1861.
