The downtown 3rd & Curry Streets Farmers Market features fresh produce plus fun activities for the family. New hours are 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

There will be a cherry pit spitting contest for kids today starting at 10:30 a.m.

Live music is featured each week. This week, Hick'ry Switch is on stage.

BMP workshop today

A free community BMP workshop takes place at 10 a.m.-noon today at Hampton Inn and Suites on N. Carson Street.

The workshop is designed to help Carson City property owners install Best Management Practices (BMPs) to reduce flooding and erosion problems on their property and enhance their landscaping. There will also be a contest to win up to $2,500 in BMP materials and labor.

Seminars continue at Greenhouse

Greenhouse Garden Center continues is weekly schedule of free seminars.
