Are you ready to write that novel or memoir? Do you have a story that needs to be told?
Come join author Deana Hoover at Comma Coffee for a six-week workshop. Deana is the author of the novels Sing to the Moon, Good Morning World, The Dream, and her most recent work Tilt. Her other works include Poems from an Ordinary Life, Descent, and Seven Steps, and many more short stories as well as numerous newspaper and magazine articles.
The class is from 5:30-7 p.m. Mondays March 21-April 25 at Comma Coffee, 312 S .Carson St., across from the state Legislature.
Fee is $90, and payment is due on the first day of class.
Instruction draws from Hoover's own personal experience and includes everything aspiring writers need to know to finish their book, whether it's fiction or non-fiction. If you apply the lessons and tips given in this class you will finish writing your book.
As a special bonus, guest speaker Orey Crounk, will share his insights and experience. Crounk is the author of the novels, The Chosen, Adrian's Hope, Dark Magus and several short stories including Epoch, Swamp Kitty, and many more.
Those who have taken Hoover's classes in the past qualify for a 10 percent returning-student discount.

Quilt/Blanket Drive set for Saturday
Final dropoff date for the Quilt/Blanket Drive sponsored by the Carson River Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church at 411 N. Saliman Road.
New quilts will go to Salt Lake City and can include crib sizes, 45x60; single sizes 72x90; and double sizes 90x90.
New and used blankets will go to neighbors in need at the Tahoe Youth and Family Services, an organization that covers all of Douglas County and has huge needs. They offer basic necessities for runaways, the homeless and couch surfers ages 11-24.
Cleaning of used blankets will be provided by Economy Wash & Dry in Carson City.

Democratic Women's meeting planned
The Carson City Democratic Womens Club will be meeting on Saturday at Grandma Hattie's.
Guest speaker is Jan Gilbert of the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada. She will discuss current issues in Nevada. During the business meeting, two new activity ideas will be discussed, as well as progress reports on other programs
