January 5, 1945 - March 13, 2011
Judith Marie (Weishaupt) Staub, a longtime resident of Carson City, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, March 13, with her family at her side. She was born in Fallon to Donald and Virginia Weishaupt, and she loved growing up on their farm. Judy graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a degree in education. She married John Staub, a life-long resident of Carson City, in 1975.
John and Judy spent two years in Philadelphia while John served as an optometrist at the Philadelphia Naval Hospital. They then returned to Carson and opened his optometry practice, which Judy managed.
This "old farmer" loved being outdoors anytime, traveling anywhere, and socializing with anyone. For just over 35 years, John and Judy were always together, putting family fun first. Judy's latest, greatest adventure was getting to love her grandsons Chance Handelin and Cal Staub.
She is survived by her husband John, and daughter Lindsay Handelin (Steve), both of Carson City; son Matthew Staub (Allison) of Denver; brothers Richard Weishaupt of Fallon and Robert Weishaupt (Meli) of the Dominican Republic; and adorable grandsons, Chance of Carson City and Cal of Denver.
A celebration of life will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 at Fountainhead Foursquare Church, 3690 Highway 395 South, Carson City, NV 89705. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Fountainhead Foursquare Church, or to the PEO Sisterhood Chapter N c/o Jonna Stone, 805 Ivy St., Carson City, NV 89703. Don't forget: JESUS LOVES YOU!
