Jean and George Hillman, longtime Carson City residents, celebrated their 65th anniversary March 7, 2011.
They met and married in Memphis, Tenn., in 1946 when George Hillman was stationed as a captain and B-24 bomber pilot. He flew 30 missions and was shot down on his last one and was a prisoner of war.
Jean Hillman was a U.S. government secretary and had her own real estate business in Jackson, Miss.
George Hillman spent his career in various managerial positions with Consumers Power Co., (now CMS Energy) in Jackson, Mich.
The couple have two children. Bud and his wife Michelle live in Gardnerville and South Lake Tahoe. Deborah and friend Beth live in Hilo, Hawaii. They have two grandchildren, Emily and Danner of Gardnerville.
