A problem at NV Energy substation has knocked out power to north Douglas County and South Carson City between Clearview and Mica drives.
NV Energy Spokesman Karl Walquist said crews have been out since the outage was reported just after 2 p.m. Thus far they've been unable to determine what knocked out service to about 6,000 customers.
"Crews are patrolling the lines to see if they can determine what's caused the outage and in the meantime, if they are unable to do that, they are planning on trying to get service from another substation between 3:30-4 p.m. ," said Walquist.
