Carson Comets: Race day and presentation of the outstanding skiers award climaxed at the 1961 Carson Comets ski program. Bob Porter was recipient of the top award based on courtesy, sportsmanship and general skiing ability. The trophy is donated each year by Mercury Cleaners.
