The Douglas High softball was in desperate need of a win over McQueen Thursday to keep any hopes of extending its season alive.
The Lady Tigers held up their end of the bargain, winning 3-2 in Reno with a little help from the wind in their regular-season finale.
With Dougla's slate complete, the Tigers need Galena to go winless over its final three games in order to sneak into the playoffs.
Douglas' Aliyah Paxson drew a leadoff walk to start the game and Amanda Caras followed with a single.
Nikki Chavez moved the runners to second and third with a sacrifice bunt and Jenna Geyer drew a walk to load the bases. Naomi Roberts hit a sacrifice fly to bring Paxson in for a 1-0 lead.
Brenna White then reached on an error which allowed Caras and Geyer to score.
Douglas made that lead stand, allowing two runs in the fourth but holding the Lancers otherwise scoreless in the win.
Taylor McKinnon picked up the win in the circle, striking out two and walking one.
Caras and Kelly Sonnemann each doubled for the Tigers in the win. Douglas wrapped up its season 9-15-2 overall and 5-11 in league play.
