Crickets and hoppers: There are millions of crickets crossing the Orr ditch at the old Dunning ranch. They vary in size from a wasp to a cottontail rabbit and the crickets eat anything from ice cream to gum boots. They find difficulty in crossing the ditch and A. J. Smith's chickens sit on the bridge and rescue their remains as they float down stream.
