Obituary: Betty Jane Jenks Moore

Betty Jane Jenks Moore, 90, died November 4, 2011, at her home in Reno. Betty was born in Belvidere, Ill, November 29, 1920 to Arthur and Helen Meyers. She lived in southern California for 28 years before moving to Carson City in 1970. She has been a Reno resident since 1981.

Betty graduated from Northern Illinois University with a BA degree in speech pathology and education. She was married to Herbert R. Jenks from 1942 until 1979 when he died. She was primarily a mother and homemaker. In 1981, she married Paul L. Moore who died in 2009.

Betty was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Reno. Before that she was a member of St. John's Presbyterian, and the First Presbyterian of Carson City.

Betty is survived by her sons, James Jenks of Redmond, WA, Ronald Jenks of Chandler, AZ and Roger Jenks of Easley, SC, and by her daughter, Sandra Steele of Carson City, NV; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 11:00am at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery, 1281 N. Roop Street, Carson City.
