REPORT CARD: CARSON 32, MANOGUE 21

OFFENSE: Bad snaps robbed Carson of consistency throughout the first half, and the Miners were determined not to let Sawyers get the better of them as he was held to 47 yards The one thing about Sawyers is you can hem him in for a while, but sooner or later he is going to break off a couple of long ones which he did en route to a 144-yard day. Matt Nolan was very efficient in the second half, throwing for a cuple of touchdowns. Brock Pradere made a nice catch and move to the end zone to jump-start the Senators in the third quarter. (three checks and a plus)

DEFENSE: Forced three turnovers, two by Austin Pacheco, were the highlights. Carson's tackling was much better in the second half than in the first. Carson did a better job against Garrett in the final 24 minutes. T.J. Menning broke contain several times for some good yardaged, and he had 64 of the 94 which tells you what kind of job Carson did on Kenny Rogers. (three checks and a minus)

SPECIAL TEAMS: This was a tough one to figure out. Carson went for two-point conversions after four of its six scores and failed each time. Even one of Pacheco's PATs was blocked yet still made it over the crossbar. Kickoffs were solid, and Pacheco did boom a punt to get Carson out of trouble after a bad snap put the ball back at the 2. (two checks and a plus)
