LAS VEGAS (AP) - Nevada Republican Chairwoman Amy Tarkanian is keeping her title after she helped the state party navigate a national battle over the presidential nomination calendar.
Tarkanian was re-elected unopposed Saturday during a state GOP central committee meeting on the Las Vegas Strip.
The vote came after Tarkanian guided the GOP through a high-profile vote to delay its Republican presidential caucuses by three weeks to Feb. 4. The move came in response to a threat from New Hampshire to move their first-in-the-nation primary to December.
Tarkanian was first elected to her post earlier this year after former GOP chairman Mark Amodei resigned to campaign for his current U.S. House seat.
