The man and Day exchanged words, according to the report, and Day then pointed a gun at the man.

"All of a sudden the gun went off and the victim described a huge flame and a very loud bang," the report states.

The victim, who knew Day and Atkins, ran off and the car drove away. The bullet was never found. Within 10 minutes of the initial call, officers found Atkins' car nearby. Atkins and Day were inside and were arrested without incident.

A revolver with one round missing from the cylinder was found on the passenger floorboard, the report states.

Day's bail was set at $20,000. Atkins' bail was set at $5,000.
