Mrs. S.P. Davis and family get on the train last evening for Salt Lake. Mrs. Davis goes to join her husband at that place, where the family will make their future home. In leaving Carson Mrs. Davis leaves many warm friends behind.
100 YEARS AGO
Malcolm MacDonald has died of a heart attack. One of Nevada's best known mining operators, he was interested with Chris Zabriskie and the Smith interests in developing Tonopah. He was a native of Mound House and made his home in Nevada for the best part of his life.
70 YEARS AGO
The Bishop 40 & 8 train, which was left in Carson about 10 days ago for repairs, is again in running order and was operated on the streets of Carson late yesterday. The train will be in the parade here on Admission Day.
50 YEARS AGO
The Carson City Chamber of Commerce office in the civic auditorium will close January 1, 1962 because of lack of funds. Some 140 Carson City merchants are not members at this time.
20 YEARS AGO
Authorities still have no clue why somebody shot nearly 50 bullets into Assemblyman Louis Bergevin's Gardnerville house.
10 YEARS AGO
For more than five years, Jeffrey and Carol Scott have donated time and talents to the Brewery Arts Center. They are moving to Canada next month, and will be sorely missed.
