Margaret "Maggie" Campbell, 96, died peacefully in her sleep Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Mountain Springs Assisted Living Center in Carson City, Nevada. Born in Hallowell, Maine, to Joseph and Bessie Lerette, she moved to Nevada in 1946 and married Gus Campbell from Genoa. After Gus's death in 2006, Maggie moved to Alaska to live with her granddaughter's family. She returned to Carson City in January 2011.
Preceeded in death by her husband, Gus, her sister Maxine, her son and daughter-in-law, Gilbert and Ann Fortier, her grandson, Michael Fortier, and her great grandson Jason Peterson, she lived a full life.
Maggie worked as an accountant and retired from the State of Nevada in 1980. She enjoyed travel and sewing. She is survived by granddaughters, Donna (Rudy) Peterson of Kenai, Alaska and Sharon Hicks of Carson City; great-grandchildren Jamie Peterson, Desiree Fortier, Vincent Irvin and Augusta Irvin; great great-grandchildren Louie, Lily, Annabelle, and Kevin; and extended family Sandra (Charlie) Barron, Ron Graves, Tom Cook, Jane (Riley) Beckett, Jody (Jim) Copenhaver, Kari (Doug) Karwoski, and Meesha (John) Green.
At Margaret's request, no services will be held. Donations to Hospice in her name are requested in lieu of flowers. Walton's Chapel of the Valley is handling arrangements. 775-882-4965
