Sam says the pine nuts are more than ever before and there is a black bug they gather, that when roasted bursts open like popcorn and is a very succulent morsel.

Lance Deady and Ralph Lee, who several weeks ago left on an overland trip on the coasts have returned with the boys walking some 500 miles with two burros carrying their junk. They have seen a lot of California and Nevada that otherwise would have been impossible.

When the motorized division of 1,700 men in 300 trucks rolled into an encampment in North Carson last Saturday, it was the first contingent of soldiers to pitch camp at that place in exactly forty-three years since the Spanish-American War. Soldiers stayed at the Winnie Ranch.

At the request of three residents from Sierra Heights Addition in southwest Carson City, the Carson City Council agreed to halt excessive speeding on Elm Street with stop signs.
