Julie Ann Shaheen, born February 15, 1944 in Akron, Ohio, entered into the kingdom of heaven on September 3, 2011 surrounded by her family in their loving embrace. She is predeceased in death by her parents, Angelo and Rose Maselli, and brother, Dale. Julie is survived by Roger, her husband and soul mate for over fifty years, two wonderful sons, Dan (Gia) and Jeff (Kathy), grandchildren, Emilee, Josh, Sophia and Miles Shaheen, who were the four shining stars in her life. She also leaves her sister and best friend, Terri Cantua (Bart), nieces, Carrie Schenkhuizen and Gina Jaramillo, and nephew, Chris Maselli; also, many great-nieces and nephews.

Julie was a caring, compassionate and loving person with an artist's soul. Some of her passions were traveling, enabling her and Roger to crisscross this country many times in their R.V., as well as traveling abroad. She loved tending her many gardens, as well as exploring her artistic side with her flair for interior decorating and her knack for expressing herself on canvas.

Julie and Roger have been very active in the Carson City community for over thirty-nine years, and the St. Teresa church community where she was a Eucharistic minister, and participated in the church environment for many years. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Julie was the epitome of wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend; she will forever live on in the hearts of her family, who love and miss her very much.

One of Julie's favorite charities was the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942. Any donation in her memory would be appreciated.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11 am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Community, 3000 North Lompa Lane, Carson City, NV. Arrangements are entrusted to the Walton's Funerals & Cremations, Reno. 775-323-7189
