Carson High Class reunion
Wonder how Kirk Kinne is doing, what is up with Jack Salinger or Dan Augustine? Share your stories and tales with all your classmates this weekend. Should be a great time with all the classmates from 1960-62, etc. You can reminisce about when Mrs. Borderwich was teaching at Carson High School (where Carson Middle School is now). Go to classmates.com yearbook and flip through and see all your friends. The CHS yearbooks from 1958 are online to view. Come enjoy the following events.
WHAT: Carson High School Graduates from 1960, 1961 and 1962.
WHEN: Friday, cocktails at 6 p.m. at Mo & Sluggo's, 11 W. Telegraph St. At 10 a.m. Saturday, enjoy memory lane with a tour of the former Carson High School; at 6 p.m. Saturday, dinner at Silver Oak Golf Course.

Community Leader of the Year celebration, benefit
Received a call from one of my favorite advocates for Domestic Violence, Karl Neathammer, stating he went down to support, not only Ron Wood Family Resource Center, but also to pay tribute to the Honorable Robey Willis for his years of community service and dedication not just as a judge but for advocating for women and children within our community. The event will also feature celebrity servers such as Judge John Tatro - and no tipping please, unless he is perfect. I know Tatro will have no problem pulling this off with that famous family smile and charm.
WHO: The Ron Wood Family Resource Center 3rd Annual Community Leader of the Year Celebration and Benefit
WHAT: Honoring an amazing man, great times, and I am sure, a lot of laughs.
WHEN: 5-9 p.m. Saturday
WHERE: Empire Ranch Golf Course
COST: Tickets are $50 per person includes wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres and music
CONTACT: To donate or for tickets or more information, call Joyce Buckingham at 884-2269.
PROCEEDS BENEFIT: The event will also be a fundraiser for many services that directly benefit families in need. Donations are being sought for the raffle and auction.

UPDATE: Thank you to all who attended Kerri Oxoby's Memorial Golf Tournament & BBQ. I was up there getting things ready and can't thank everyone enough who showed up early to assist Kerri's mother, Shirley. There was enough money raised to again sponsor two Carson High scholarships in the amount of $2,500 apiece. Special thanks to Leigh Anne Page of Tiers of Joy (www.tiers ofjoyreno.com). Your cupcakes are amazing. And the music was beautiful from Accent (www.accentnevada.com)
NEXT WEEK: Stroke for Help Golf Tournament, Genoa Candy Dance and Street Vibes hits Virginia City
