The Dayton volleyball team improved to 5-1 in non-tournament play with a three-game sweep of South Tahoe Friday night. Dayton won 25-19, 25-15 and 25-16.
Coach Monica Halverson said everyone contributed to the win. Leading Dayton was lead by Madison Foley with 10 kills, two digs and block; Erin Edison with seven kills and four blocks; and Cora Jeffreys played an outstanding game with three kills, 25 assists and two digs.
Dayton is 5-1 in league, host Whittell today.
Sierra Lutheran-teams win
Sierra Lutheran swept Excel Christian 25-11, 25-10 and 25-19 Friday night. Leading Sierra Lutheran was Tiffany Patrick with eight aces, 11 kills, one block and 25 assists; Hannah Ediss added two assists, nine kills, a block and four digs; and McKinze Tynes added six kills, three blocks and a dig.
Sierra Lutheran is now 10-8.
In JV action, Sierra Lutheran rallied for a 19-25, 25-18 and 15-7 win. Leading the Falcons was Hanna Rutherford with 23 aces, four kills and a dig; Emily Fernandez with six assists and six kills; Natalie Etheverria with three assists, three kills, two digs and seven assists ; and Katy Cobb with an ace, four kills and eight assists.
Sierra Lutheran is now 1-1 in league.
The Falcons host Smith Valley starting with the JV match at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
