REPORT CARD: CARSON 54, HUG 0
OFFENSE
Carson didn't hit the 500-yard mark this week, but that was only because coach Blair Roman pulled his starters late in the second quarter. Dylan Sawyers again demonstrated why he is the best back in Northern Nevada with a combination of power running and elusiveness. Matt Nolan was sensational throwing the ball. He should have had a second TD pass, but it was called back because of a penalty. 4 checks
DEFENSE
Roman doesn't know the last time a Carson team recorded back-to-back shutouts, but it hasn't happened in his three-plus years. Granted the opposition hasn't been great, but the Hug shutout came with second-stringers and JV kids playing the second half. Sean Robles had a nice interception and 57-yard return. 4 checks
SPECIAL TEAMS
This unit had a real rough night. There were a couple of bad snaps on extra points. Brock Pradere was able to save one and get the ball down in time> He wasn't as fortunate on th next on which looked like it never left the ground, causing Austin Pacheco to miss. Hug also blocked a PAT. Pacheco's kick-offs weren't quite as deep as normal. 2 checks plus
