RENO (AP) - The Nevada Highway Patrol is warning drivers to watch out for wild horses in the Geiger Grade area after two animals were struck and killed by vehicles in separate accidents in the past week.
Trooper Chuck Allen says an adult horse was struck and killed early Wednesday just south of the 7-Eleven on State Route 341.
A young colt was killed while crossing the two-lane highway on Sept. 22.
No people were hurt in either accident.
Allen says small bands of horses have also been feeding along U.S. 50 east of Carson City.
Authorities say drivers should use extra caution, especially at night and on blind curves.
