Tintabulations concert Sunday
Think handbells can't be fun? Then you haven't seen Tintabulations. This group knows that the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' theme can go right alongside handbell classics such as 'Carol of the Bells'.
Tintabulations will perform a free 30 minute concert of Disney tunes and other popular music at noon Sunday at Carson Valley United Methodist Church, 1375 Centerville Ln., Gardnerville.
The concert will be video-taped and used as an audition tape for playing in Disneyland. An audience is needed, so come and interact with a fun-loving set of musicians.
Tintabulations, under the direction of Barbara Walsh, is a community-based handbell ensemble from Reno. They have toured in California, Oregon, Hawaii, and Nevada - including performances with the Reno Philharmonic and the Reno Pops Orchestra. This group works tirelessly to support and educate pre-existing bell groups and to encourage new bell groups.
They also engage in fundraising efforts, benefit concerts, and classroom performances to promote music programs in the public schools.
For more information, call 782-4600.
