Obituary: Major George N. Class

Major George N. Class, 72, passed away April 12, 2012 in Carson City, NV. George was born February 9, 1940 in Chico, CA to Walter and Leola Class. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps retiring with the rank of Major after 33 years of service. George has been a resident of Gardnerville for the past twenty-five years. He was very active in the Marine Corps League, a life member of the American Legion and a member of the VFW. He was the northern Nevada liaison for the 'Devil Pups' youth leadership program. In his free time he enjoyed his horses and dogs. George was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and is now residing with Him.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda; two sons, Eric Class (Lucera) and Jake Class (Sheri). He is also survived by one brother, John Class; and two sisters, Clara Fitz and Sandy Collins (James). His three granddaughters were the light of his life.

Memorial services with military honors will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Hilltop Community Church, 3588 Romans Rd. Carson City, NV.

Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of final arrangements.
