J. B. Osborne, 92 of Carson City, passed away on July 25, 2012 at his residence in Sierra Place. He was born on November 5, 1919 to Rolla Osborne and Gertrude Byrd in Fellows, California.
J. B. was a proud World War II Veteran, serving our nation in the Army Air Corps. He was also a long-time member of the "Baja Bums Group," traveling to various places in Mexico for fishing trips. His other passions included gardening and making various types of wine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolla and Gertrude; his wife of 52 years, Nickie; and his two daughters, Barbara Field and Linda Steitz.
His surviving family members include two grandsons: Anthony (Heather) Field and Robb (Amelia) Field, and one great-granddaughter, Alex Field.
There will be a public viewing in the large chapel of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church on Friday, August 3, 2012, from 9-10 a.m. Following the viewing will be a Catholic Funeral Mass in the small chapel at 10 a.m. The final, private interment of J. B. will be at Happy Homestead Cemetery in South Lake Tahoe, California. Arrangements are entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City.
