Obituary: Mary Jacqueline Forbes

Mary Jacqueline Forbes, 73, passed away on Dec. 1, 2012 in Carson City, Nev. She was born in San Diego, Calif. to parents, Frank and Edith Mason. Mary "Jackie" moved to San Jose, Calif. where she met the love of her life, Robert "Butch" Forbes. They married on June 15, 1958. She and Butch had three children. In 1973, they moved their family to Carson City. Shortly after arrival she began working for the Carson City School District. Throughout the years, she worked at Carson Junior High, Carson High School, Eagle Valley Middle School, and the District Office. After 33 years of employment, she retired in 2006.

Jackie enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading, needlepoint, cooking and spending time with her family. She cherished being Grammy to four wonderful grandchildren.

Jackie was preceded in death by her father, Frank; her mother, Edith; her brothers, Frank Jr., and John; and her sister, Jean. Jackie is survived by her loving husband, Robert "Butch" Forbes; son, Keith Forbes (Linda); daughters, Kristy Oliszczak (Peter), Shari Mariani (Ferd); grandchildren, Dominic Mariani, Lindsey Forbes, Ian McBryde, and Nicholas Forbes. She will be dearly missed by family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society. A service will be held at Calvary Chapel of Carson City, 1635 Clearview Dr. on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m.
